Remember, Easter is
a Time of Rebirth
The woman whom I
thought I knew has gone
Away and with her also gone the port
Through which I opened up a soul forlorn
And bared the empty shell I shan't shrift short.
The image that I thought I knew has left
And in its place another plate arrived -
A graphic starkly naked and bereft
Of all the blessed beauty I'd imbibed.
The core I kenned connected has unwound
Reopening the sore I swore had sealed -
The joy I prayed would 'comp'ny me I found
Abandonned linking loneliness unhealed.
O, Deb, pray tell whate're Love's done to you
To merit thus such torture 'sthou'st thought through?
