Goodbye
The time for
taking back has come and gone
And I no longer wish that you were here.
But since the time to say I'm sorry's born
The strength to send its message without tear-
I watch the mama watch her son cavort
And see your face transfixed upon our own.
I see the papa try to feign his court
And sudd'nly realize what I have shown.
Forgive me for the grief I've given you.
I'm sorry for the lack of love you've felt.
Believe me for the pain I've sorted through
Has starkly seen my soul descend and melt.
For though I've tried and failed to love's you've loved
I take such blame's our fit has come ungloved.
