Ephemera

Ephemerality to certainty
Doth bring a fall from spring for living things
As darkly, dreary death's necessity
Into our portless blips sheer music sings.

Quiescent nights the cooler days maintain
As frightened prey bemoan their vigil watch
So glor'ius the floral deaths sustain
Whilst predators do pause to lick some crotch.

Conclusions logically formed which fly
Within our living stuff so firmly bound
Do only serve to cause us wonder why
More answers to life's questions are not found.

So wearily we wait and wish and cry
That some day soon we might begin to try.
