Divorce Madness
(for Wendy - who "coined the term")

The seeming eccentricities of life
Do somehow mold their sadness 'midst our moods
As thrusted beams athwart their daily strife
Support those we consume like lesser foods.

The civil war divisions march along
Like columns in an edifice sublime.
So strong emotions counterpoint the song
As warring factions fractionate our time.

Why hurt we those whom we admire so
As though our feelings justify their pain?
Why thus allow for vengeance what we know
Destroys the very fabric that we feign?

I sense the sleepless nights these thoughts have spawned
But bleakly bathe this darkness yet undawned.
